Keep Unwanted Animals Away!

Uses 3-Way Repelling Actions in All Directions

How it Works

The Sureguard ScareCrow 360o uses THREE repelling actions that are active horizontally in all directions, 360-degrees.  So no matter which direction the animals come from, the deterrent will be active.

Three Repelling Actions:
  • Blue Sentinel Lights flash to deter foxes and dogs up to 200m at night. This simulates human activity that makes them feel confused, disrupted or vulnerable. When pests sense danger or confrontation, they generally choose safety and retreat.
  • Close up, Motion Sensors detect the body heat of pests. This triggers Powerful Ultrasonic Sound and Bright White Flashing Lights that will repel most pest animals.
  • The combined flashing pattern of the White Lights and Blue Sentinel Lights simulate an Up-Down Motion of the device that animals are particularly wary of at night.

Features

  • HypersoundTM Technology that projects high-intensity multiple frequency waves toward the pest for maximum deterrence.
  • Audible to animals but not to humans and birds.
  • Two selectable operating modes can protect just at night or 24-hours a day.
  • Solar-powered with an internal lithium rechargeable battery for day and night operation.
  • 5 Volt external power inlet allows use indoors or undercover.
  • Operating time is 3-4 weeks between charges.
  • Four operating heights.
The Sureguard ScareCrow 360o has the ability to modify animal behaviour, but animals have natural behaviours and motivations that should also be considered. It may take longer to get results when an animal has strong motivation. For example, an animal eating your garden plants is probably doing so because little food is available.
Persistent behaviours can sometimes take longer to control. For example, deterring a neighbour’s dog from visiting will likely get quick results because the dog is aware it’s out of its territory. However, your dog may not be initially controlled until the deterrent becomes a nuisance to your dog.
How long the modified behaviour persists can vary. For example, a possum may stop visiting for a time but return when food is in short supply. Therefore, however quick the initial result should be, don’t be too quick to switch OFF the Sureguard ScareCrow 360o. You want to send a strong message if the animal returns: “this deterrent is always here to protect”.
Birds: NOT SUITABLE.
Cats: Visiting cats should quickly learn to stay away. Your pet cat may require more time to control.
Dogs: Visiting dogs should quickly learn to stay away because they are intruding on another’s territory. Your pet dog may require more time to understand the deterrent, and it should be left in place for the deterrent effect to persist.
Deer: Always have the Sentinel Light operating. Leave the device active continually.
Foxes: Use the Night-Mode setting if visitations occur at night and always have the Sentinel Light operating. If protecting poultry, you may require two or three devices surrounding your shed to ensure at least one can be seen from any approach direction.
Possums: Use the Night-Mode setting for best results and leave the device active continually. The Sentinel Light might not be required.
The Motion Sensor must be about the same height as the possum and within a Motion Sensor’s range. So if the possum is walking along a fence, up a tree, climbing a building structure, etc., ensure the device is at that height. If the possum is at ground level, install it at ground level.
Rabbits:  Activate the device continually. Shorten the Support Post to get the appropriate height for the Motion Sensor. If possible, use the Sentinel Light.
Reptiles: NOT SUITABLE. Does not work with cold-blooded animals.
Rodents:  Use the Night-Mode setting, and place it at ground level without the Support Post.
Wallabies and Kangaroos: Always have the Sentinel Light operating. Leave the device active continually.
  • Operating Modes: Two - Night Only or 24-Hours.
  • Operating Heights: Zero, 50mm, 170mm, 290mm.
  • Motion Sensors: Three (3).
  • Ultrasonic Speakers: Three (3).
  • Blue Sentinel Lights: Six (6). (The Sentinel Lights may be switched off.)
  • White Lights: Six (6).
  • Detection Distance: Up to 8m (25ft) for most animals. (Less for small animals).
  • Sonic Output Intensity (max.): 110dB @ 10cm, 90dB @1m.
  • Sonic Frequencies: Twelve bands between 22kHz and 50kHz.
  • Motion Sensor: Triggers a 15 seconds preset light and sound sequence. It can be immediately retriggered on movement.
  • Dimensions:
    • Controller(WDH): 115mm x 115mm x 150mm
    • Mounting Post: 360mm
    • Overall Height: 510mm.
  • Weight:
    • Controller: 365g (12.8oz).
    • Post 45g (1.6oz).
  • Battery: Lithium 18650 3.7 volts 1.8AH
  • Enclosure: Weather resistant to IP44.

Not sure about ScareCrow 360° - will wait and see
I think I should have bought the ScareCrow Motion Activated Spray Repellent that shoots water. To be fair, since installing the ScareCrow 360° Motion Activated Ultrasonic Repellent, I’ve seen only one of our neighbour’s 10 roaming cats on our verandah near our birdbath and it had its back to the device so it may not have noticed the flashing lights, but our own cat was not at all put off by the lights and ultrasonic sounds. My wife walks him in the garden on his lead and, on his first experience of the ScareCrow 360°, it proved to be no deterrent to him. He marched straight up to it and sniffed it while its lights flashed furiously. I assume the ultrasonic sounds were being emitted. (I had the blue light turned off.) I wish I’d bought the slightly more expensive water spraying deterrent. Having paid for this one, I’ll wait and monitor the cats roaming through our garden to see if it affects them. I’ll probably add two water spraying devices and have the ultrasonic one positioned between them. I appreciated the helpful after sales service over the phone. I wish I’d phoned before buying. I do believe these products are well designed and do work. I just think the model that shoots water might be more effective at keeping stray cats away.

    Excellent
Purchased this product without any initial reviews after seeing it at Bunnings. I suspected a possum issue and purchased the sureguard scarecrow in an effort to deter both possum's and stray cats. The initial results are great with physical signs of the possum / cats no longer obvious or visible. I use the night mode and it works as described. So far, very impressed with the device and its effectiveness!

    very happy
We bought this to try get some plants on the nature strip established. Main herbivores are wallabies, but the occasional rabbit is in there too. This seems to be working well. Plants within its radius are starting to come back from the dead! We have the blue light turned off and set to only activate at night. This avoids spooking dog walkers or annoying our neighbors with the blue light.

Works for cats but not possums
I thought this would be good solution to deterring possums, but only worked for a few weeks then they worked how to dodge the scarecrow and used a different path. I think you need one on every corner of your house to be effective or cut down all the trees in your garden. Animals are much smarter than we think. Seems to have worked for the cat that would come and use our garden as a toilet. I installed the unit on the corner of the house near the power line, as this was the path the possums used. But now they use the fence which is behind the trees and jump onto the roof and to the backyard. I guess we just have to live possums lol. [EDITOR: The Scarecrow 360 is not a full property solution for possums. You could use it to protect small areas within its 8m range, but the Sureguard Pingg-String is a more appropriate solution for bigger areas. The success rate of the Pingg-String is close to 100% so you could consider it a possum proof solution.]

Great for foxes but not Qoull's
Great product, activates well when pests are around however does not deter native Qoull's one bit. I watch a Qoull walk right past one and didn't flinch. Works great for foxes . [EDITOR: Thanks for the review. The list of target animals is quite specific: cats, dogs, deer, foxes, possums, rabbits, wallabies and kangaroos. It is not designed for cold-blooded animals or birds.]
