Customer Reviews

If you have ducks in your pool then this is a must buy. It has been fantastic. Just wish I knew about the scarecrow a couple of years earlier.

Michael

Just magic. Easy setup and not a possum in sight since. Shall move it to the front garden for a night or two to scare of a marauding cat.

Peter

We purchased the scarecrow to keep cockatoos off our new planted garden beds. I would plant out a new area of garden - the cockatoos would notice and pull plants out, bite off flower heads etc. It was heartbreaking. We have installed scarecrow and it works brilliantly.

Tracy

This product is amazing!! Before purchasing the scarecrow we tried everything; fake snakes, owls chopped chili and sprinkled it on the pavement but nothing stopped the birds until we installed the product - we are so excited, no more ducks and no more droppings!!! Customer service was fantastic, delivered very quickly. Thank you!!.

    Finally we have a crop
Purchased a scarecrow to try and keep a crop of macadamia nuts from being decimated by black cockatoos as the tree has been for the last two years, even though it says not suitable for birds that are in trees or high up. A little "bush ingenuity" saw me mount it up high on a length of pipe and voila, we now have a harvest of macadamias for the first time instead of a lawn covered in chewed up nuts. It took a bit of trial and error to get the sensitivity sensor to oblige but the squadrons of hungry black cockys vandalising the tree has thankfully stopped.

    It actually works!
I had almost given up finding a way to keep the ducks out of my pool. I will admit I was sceptical when I installed the Sureguard ScareCrow, as I have just about tried everything. But it has been five weeks now and it is actually working, and I am very happy about that. There is an added bonus of amusement when the humans forget about it being there! Great job, thank you. I have and will continue to recommend this product to others.

    Brush Turkey deterrent
The SureGuard "Scare Crow" has been quite successful in deterring a persistent brush turkey that was creating a regular mess in our backyard. Neighbour's roaming cats are next!

    Stopped Brush Turkeys nesting
Some Brush Turkeys started nesting in the garden. I applied the things I knew about. Rolls of wire laid out on the lawns. Logs put down to impede them moving leaf litter around, rocks to make it uncomfortable, chasing them, collecting their litter pile and removing it, etc. It wasn't enough. The activated sprinkler looked to me as though it might work. (Among a number of products which didn't seem like such good bets.) I got one and it worked on the Turkeys. I removed the wire and they came back, but when I applied all the measures they went away again. They still come in daily. to check it out but have now stopped seriously trying to build a nest in the garden. It took more than one approach, but without the scarecrow, it wasn't working. With it, it did work. I tried various combinations of settings, which seemed to help. I'm pleased I found this device. Recommended.

    Rooftop Relief from Pigeons
Our neighbour feeds wild birds up to three times a day and refuses to stop or even scale it back, despite contact from the toothless Council. We were constantly bothered by pigeons, magpies, cockatoos etc. landing on our roof, making a noise and also making a terrible, corrosive mess with their droppings. I saw where another reviewer had used the Sureguard Scarecrow sprinklers for a pigeon problem, so I decided to try them too. A friend welded up a couple of simple brackets that slid under the tiles at the edge of the roof. Once installed the sprinklers have worked beautifully. They were very busy initially but after 10 days or so there has been a "training effect". A few magpies manage to slip under the radar every now and then but the pigeons and other species are keeping away completely! Very effective and great fun too.

    Dog-gone
Because our front yard is open, the local dogs (and cats), use the garden and lawn as a poo stop. Not nice. Tried many products like chemical smells without success. I knew Sureguard's products were good, ( had 3 different ones for possums in the past). They are not cheap BUT they work, and work well. So far after 6 weeks no dogs or cats in the front yard. Just a bit concerned someone may pinch it!!!!!!

    Motion activated sprinkler
I have had an earlier version of this sprinkler, but the latest model is heaps better. It seems to keep the scrub turkeys out of our new garden. The only problem is that the garden is too big and I should have bought more. Anyway it works great. I highly recommend this product.

Keeping the Brush Turkey's under control
We have a problem with the Brush Turkey's, our take turns at digging up particular areas. A friend recommended I buy the Sureguard and so far it seems to work well enough and the turkey population has stopped digging for the time being.

    Excellent
Works a treat. Does NOT leak, dribble, refuse to work or any of the other problems I had with an inferior one I had before. Love watching the bloody cats scatter on the CCTV when it goes off. They are giving that route a wide berth at the moment, so that's pleasing! Very happy. and would buy another (and may need to!)

    Great product!
I purchased this item as I had a pesky neighbourhood cat prowling around my property at night, attacking my indoor cat through my window. I had tried everything to stop this behaviour - speaking with the owners, cat repellent sand, a motion sensor ultrasonic pitch contraption and spiky mesh to no avail. I purchased this product as a last ditch effort to stop the offender and have had great success! On the first night I listened out until I heard the "whoosh!" of the water and didn't have the nightly visitor. The second night, a little later, I again heard a "whoosh!" and no further problems. This product has stopped the pesky cat in it's tracks and has stopped my little cat a lot of anxiety. This product arrived much quicker than expected and other than a little leaking at the hose join, I've not had any issues. Definitely recommend!

    Turkeys and rabbits have gone
The brush turkeys and rabbits no longer visit the garden. The sure guard was easy to set up and works a treat. We just have to remember to turn off the water before harvesting our abundant crops.

    Bye Bye, Birdie!
Earlier this year, a bush turkey decided our yard and veggie patch was cosy enough to call home, much to my dismay. He scratched up some of my newly planted seedlings, and raked up soil and leaves, etc, from the yard to make a nest. I tried all the tricks an online search said would work to get rid of him. Nothing helped. Day after day, it was a power struggle between the two of us, and I tell you, he nearly won the war! That was, until I found the motion activated sprinkler. Immediately, he was gone! I kept it going for 3 weeks, and hadn't seen evidence of him being back, so I removed the sprinkler from the yard. BIG mistake. Within 3 days, he was back. So now, my sprinkler is back in action, permanently. I've replanted the destroyed veggies, and they're doing well. This sprinkler is well worth the money! Much better than replacing dug up plants, and shovelling dirt each day. Highly recommended. Thanks, Sureguard!

    Sureguard Activated Water Duck Repellant
Though we've got your newest and some of your older devices positioned around our swimming pool the ducks seem now not to take much notice of them anymore. [Editor: I see you've been using the repellents for 4 years. Ducks that seasonally visit year after year may eventually become desensitised to the water repellent, while new ducks should still be deterred but you don't want them learning from the older ducks. (See Wikipedia under desensitisation). I suggest reconditioning their response. Purchase an air horn from a boating supply (around $30). They run on compressed air. When the sprinkler activates, immediately sound the horn for 1 second. The ducks fly off and will associate the two stimuli. Repeat 2 or more times. Later they will respect the sprinkler repellent. CAUTION: Always use ear protection because the horn is very intense.]
