Birds Do Not See Window Glass
Have you heard the "thud" as a bird crashes into your window? Birds do not perceive window glass as a barrier when the reflections distort their view. A bird may mistake the reflection of a tree for the actual tree. A bird hitting the window will often lead to injury or death for the bird.
Bird Deaths from Window Impact
Sadly, bird window collisions are the largest human-caused factor in bird mortality. Figures from the United States estimate deaths between 100-million and 1-billion birds per year. (American Bird Conservancy)
Make Your Home Safe for Birds
Make your house a bird friendly building. Bird's Eye View® helps reduce wild bird window strikes by making the glass more visible to our feathered friends.
How does Bird's Eye View® Work?
For many species of birds, their vision extends into the ultraviolet range that humans can not see (so called UVS ultraviolet vision). Bird's Eye View® is a decorative film panel that emits light where bird vision is sensitive but human vision is not. It does this without any batteries or external power. Bird's Eye View® is powered by short wavelength ultraviolet light in sunlight. Then by a process called fluorescence, the UV light is converted into light which is visible to birds but not to humans.
To birds, the Bird's Eye View® film looks like a bright blue glow that spreads out in all directions across the window surface disrupting the reflection of habitat. To people it appears as a faint white geometric design.
Bird's Eye View® film is unique and protected by International patents. You'll find no other product like it. It's an attractive and practical way to look after our feathered friends.
(Some people refer to the Bird's Eye View® film as "window decals", "window stickers" or "window clings". )
Six-Pack 10cm x 10cm
Four-Pack 15cm x 15cm
- Place the Bird's Eye View® film on areas of glass that have the biggest problem.
- Typically, install two 15cm or four 10cm films per window near the center of the pane.
- Place on the inside of the window.
- Clean the window before application.
NOTE: Bird's Eye View® film adheres to glass by static attraction. No adhesives are used. The film is easily removed.
Do you have an injured bird?
The best way to help is to loosely wrap the bird in a towel and gently place it in a secure and well-ventilated box. Place the box away from noise, pets, children or other disturbances. Do not attempt to feed the bird.
