How the Pingg-String® Barrier Works
The Pingg-String device puts a special electrical impulse on fine wires that form the electronic barrier. The barrier blends into the surroundings & is almost invisible.
For bird control, place single wires cross the pond (illustrated in yellow). To control ground predators, place several wires around the pond (illustrated in red). When the bird or animal encounters the wires it discovers that this is highly unpleasant and avoids repeating the experience. By suitable placement of this barrier you can eliminate all of your predator problems. Results are virtually instantaneous.
Important: This is not the same as a farm electric fence. It will not harm any birds, animals or people. The electrical impulse is simply like strong static electricity.
Two Kit Options
Pingg-String Pond Protection Kits are available in either a mains powered or solar powered version.
Mains Powered Kit (12 volts)
In most situations a kit using a mains powered Pingg-String energizer is the best choice. Its running cost is very low, at about $1/month. You must have an outdoor power point. If the distance from your power point to the pond is more than 2m, then purchase our Lead-Out Cable Accessory to link the energizer to barrier wire. However, if this distance is more than 15m then the solar powered energizer kit may be a more practical choice.

Solar Powered Kit
The advantage of a solar powered Pingg-String energizer is that it can be installed right at the pond, almost anywhere. This simplifies installation by eliminating the need for cabling from the pond to a power outlet.
The solar powered energizer will work anywhere in Australia no matter what the weather conditions, time of day, or time of year. Unlike other solar products, such as garden lights which may cease to function on the first cloudy day, the energizer is engineered to keep operating. For our International customers you might like to check this Sunshine Map to ensure that the solar model will work in your location.
Important: You must locate the solar powered energizer at a position which receives full uninterrupted sunlight from 9am to 3pm. In Australia, the solar panel must face northward.
