Frequently Asked Questions...

Q: Is this possum barrier difficult to install?

A: No special skill is needed. Installation is straightforward and easy. The only tool you'll need is something to cut the wire and possibly a hammer & screwdriver.

Q: How do I handle two separated areas?

A: Purchase a Starter Kit together with whatever accessories are needed to finish the required length. Refer to the Accessories Section. You can connect a Ground Barrier to a Fence Barrier & build all sorts of combinations. Different sections are joined using the special Pingg-String Lead-Out Cable.

Q: Is it safe around children?

A: It is safe for possums and people. If you touch a single wire then you'll feel little or nothing. However, the possum receives an unpleasant sensation because of pressing against two wires simultaneously.

Q: Once the possums are controlled can I remove the barrier?

A: No. We do not recommend switching the energizer off because the possums may test or encounter the wires in future. The possums must always receive a correction when touching the wires.

Q: Can the barrier be secured to any sort of fence?

A: Yes. The brackets which support the Pingg-Wire are usually attached to the existing fence posts. You can secure to timber, metal & concrete posts. The type of fencing material used between the posts is unimportant.
