Social Isolation

If dog feel lonely or isolated they will want to jump or climb the fence to escape and find fun things to do and people or animals to interact with.
Your dog could be feeling lonely or isolated if:
- Left on its own for long periods of time.
- Has no access to toys or has no play mates.
- It's an active breed or a large breed and has nothing to do or no large areas to run around in.
What can you do?
- Regularly play games with your dog.
- Provide toys for your dog to play with and rotate them so they always seem new and interesting.
- Spend time with your dog teaching it tricks, commands or take obedience classes.
- Walk your dog daily.
- If you are away from home for long periods of time take your dog with you or ask someone to walk your dog.
